Job Descriptions:
Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone
Answer all voice messages, make and confirm all appointments, do precertifications and referrals.
Keep patient appointments on schedule.
Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions
Maintain the reception area.
Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges and co pays.
Obtain patient medical history, took blood pressure, vital signs, and recorded in patient's chart.
Assist physician during procedures.
Clean and set up treatment area appropriately. Escort patients to and from treatment rooms.
Handle medical supplies and equipment appropriately.
Obtain lab results.
Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Maintain operations by following policies and procedures.
SKILLS:
Train in taking vital signs, prepare patient for x-ray, blood pressures, place air ankle gel braces, wrist brace, post-op shoes, arm slings, blood draws, medical transcription, and medical terminology, injections, and file organization. Typing 70wpm.EKG and CPR certification. Experience with pediatrics and adults.
