I’ve had 2 different shops do all the work to this bike. The first shop installed the oil pump, pushrods, carb, exhaust and tires for me about 1000 miles ago. While it was there, the tank “acquired” 3 chips in the paint. They wouldn’t confess to doing this so I stopped going to them. The second shop installed the heads, rockers, electronic ignition, plugs and wires. While they were that far into the motor, I requested they re-ring it and put all new gaskets in from the bottom of the jugs and up. They said the cylinders looked brand new and the rings were perfect. They did replace the gaskets and sealed up a slow oil leak I had at the bottom of the rear jug. All of this was done approximately 500 miles ago. I’ll gladly supply these shop names and numbers to anyone who would like to confirm any of this. I have all the receipts for parts and work done to this bike as well. All of the other “minor” work was done by myself, but was done carefully and correctly.
The only thing wrong with this bike is the paint chips in the tank done by the first shop, scratches in the rear fender where the rear seat bolts onto the bike (from removing and reinstalling the seat bolt) and a small dent in the front fender from the original owner dropping the light bar on it. Mechanically, the bike is awesome and I’ve never had one problem with it.
